Description
One of the most amazing and influential albums of all time, Dusty In Memphis was her first recording with the Memphis sound and exudes sultry soul. Atlantic catalog # SD 8214
This album is still sealed and is the original 1969 US Atlantic pressing with the hype sticker advertising the hit single "Son Of A Preacher Man". The hype sticker is on the shrink wrap and NOT on the actual picture sleeve. The outer sleeve is in near mint/excellent condition with a very small cutout hole in the upper left corner. The sleeve is shiny and clean (factory sealed) with only very slight wear in the corners. The shrink wrap is intact and has not separated or split in any way. No yellowing is present. One corner is slightly dinged but it is nothing significant. It is thick, heavy quality cardboard and has no shelf wear on the seams. The vinyl has never been removed from the packaging and played as it's still in the shrink wrap. This record is believed to come in it's original inner sleeve and vinyl is believed to be mint with full, beautiful analog sound as it is unplayed. This is NOT A REISSUE - original red and green Atlantic label without WEA logo on the labels edge and with the Broadway NYC address on it.
Dusty In Memphis is #54 on NME magazines Greatest Records Of All Time and is #89 on Rolling Stone's coveted list of the 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time. The renowned music magazine called this album "blazing soul and sexual honesty that transcended both race and geography".
