Description
ARTIST: Duke Ellington's Washingtonians
LABEL: Pathe 7504
TITLES: Parlor Social Stomp / Georgia Grind
CONDITION: E-
DESCRIPTION: Rare early Duke Ellington on Pathe splatter wax. Between Duke's Blue Disc session of 1924 and the Gennett and Vocalion sessions of 1926, he recorded these jazz stomps for Perfect/Pathe in March 1926. Looks very clean. Light handling and minor wear, but plays clear with no surface noise or distortion. One small edge flake that does not get to grooves.
Over the next several weeks, I will be auctioning a consignment lot of rare pre-war blues 78s that includes many choice items in nice shape, so be sure to keep checking my listings regularly. Also, if you have any higher end pre-war blues, country or jazz you might like to consign, please get in touch and I will let you know the service I can provide.
