Description
Up for sale is an exceptionally rare rockabilly single (7 inch, 45 RPM vinyl) from an obscure label that was located in Conroe, Texas. The B side song is just killer, but I think that the A side song is also great.

According to the blogspot of "nineteen-sixty-six", ERIC Records was started by Ray Doggett, but ownership quickly passed to Henry P. Meaux and Chester Foy Lee. Although based in Conroe, Texas, most of the music was recorded in New Orleans, at Cosimo's Studio. Some of the artists who recorded for ERIC included: Barbara Lynn, Joey Long, Rockin' Dave Allen, and Roy Perkins. The label went out of business by 1964.
I wasn't able to find out anything about the male vocalist, Cookie Roberts.
In recent years, "Draggin' the Drive-Inn's" has been rediscovered as a great rockabilly tune. Not as much attention has been given to "The Black House" but it is very cool novelty song about a mysterious home at the corner of Live Oak and 44th. There are very humorous topical references to the Cold War and the Space Race. It turns out that the home is inhabited by a group of beatnik musicians who emerge jamming on their instruments.
