Double Dee & Steinski "Lesson 3 (History of Hip Hop Mix)" / "The Payoff Mix)" "Lesson Two (James Brown Mix)" 12" on Tommy Boy, 1985. Here it is, an original promo copy of the Lessons from Double Dee and Steinski...an essential hip-hop holy grail! this has been booted in many ways over the years but this is a guaranteed original, and it's a stone mint unplayed copy! this was found along with many other tommy boy promos from the era, and like this copy, most are in original tommy boy sleeves. check my other auctions for the also rare 3-D mix 12" and the other tommy boy promos. this is the real gem of the lot, not only is the music fantastic this laid the blueprint for DJ Shadow, Cut Chemist and countless other cut-n-paste hip-hop artists that followed. essential and highly recommended!
lp is NM, unplayed copy, basically mint. has the Herb Pump Powers "Herbie :)" etching in run-out groove and also "tb-867-a-(promo only)" etched in run-out groove.
