Doo Wop 45 HENRY BOOTH +MIDNIGHTERS “Every Beat of My Heart” DeLuxe ’61 NM

Titles: “Every Beat of My Heart” / “Starting From Tonight”
Label: FEDERAL # 45-6190. White label with black text, presumed to be a promotion copy.
Year: 1961
Condition: NEAR MINT with 100% of original gloss, a beauty! Has been played not more than once or twice and handled with utmost care. Plays beautifully with superb fidelity.
Labels are clean and pristine.
Two great ballad sides, and VERY hard to find in this condition.
Background: Originally released in 1952 on fellow KING subsidiary FEDERAL by the ROYALS (later renamed the Midnighters). Note that the lead singer with the beautiful smooth sound isn't Henry Booth, but Charles Sutton. Because of the success of Gladys Knight and the Pips' remake of "Every Beat Of My Heart" in 1961, King's DeLuxe subsidiary reissued it, with the label crediting "Henry Booth and the Midnighters". Possibly they just got it mixed up or possibly Henry was still with the Midnighters at that point.
