Description
I am reluctantly selling some of my jazz LP collection that I have put together over the past 30 years. Look at my other acutions for more LPs and in the weeks to come I will be listing others.
This copy of Donald Byrd's Tansition LP (TRLP 4), Byrd's Eye View is in remarkable condition for a 50+ year old record. It is the finest copy of this LP that I have come upon in my many years of chasing down jazz records.
The jacket is in solid VG++, and for a TRANSITION jacket it's really NM-- about as nice as you'll ever find! As you know, the seams will split on these if you look at them! There are slight corner dings and NO seam splits--just minor abrasions on the seams! The original promo "banner" is in place--this is only the 2nd copy of this LP I have seen with the promo banner. The banner could be removed--by why on earth would anyone want to do this? The rare original BOOKLET is in NM condition.
The disc itself is beautiful with only one noticeable unfeelable scuff and one "needle drop" that can be seen when the disc is held up to direct light. The labels are both intact and attached (if you know anything about Transtion LPs you know this is fairly rare!). I would grade the disc VG++/borderline NM. You would be hard pressed to EVER find a nicer copy of this EXCEEDINGLY rare jazz LP!!!
