Rare copy of Don Rendell's classic - "Meet Don Rendell" on U.K Tempo LAP 1. (1955)
White/Purple label with Tempo logo in twelve o'clock position.
Matrices: VMG 147-1B / VMG 148-1B
Vinyl condition: Good++ Sleeve: VG (apart from issue described)
Fifty seven years old and still in good condition overall! Vinyl has quite a lot of light to moderate surface scratches to be expected of a record of this age and obviously one that has been well played and enjoyed, although there are no deep or heavy scratches apart from one small feelable one that results in a few of moderate clicks. Generally, the classic heavyweight vinyl as is common on early records give a much better play than appearance might suggest.
The vinyl is clear sounding with no distortion, jumps or anything of a serious nature. The overall result is of an enjoyable listening experience. There is some mild to moderate surface noise at points mainly at the start or finish to tracks as is usual from a well played record, but nothing serious. Generally the faster uptempo tracks play quietly and any surface noise is more apparent on the slower ballads which is usual.
To confirm the vinyl overall gives an enjoyable listening experience and any surface noise that exists does not detract significantly from the overall experience and Don Rendell's fantastic performance.
Labels are clean with no writing and no spindle wear.
Sleeve in in generally good condition apart from a tear to the bottom front of cover (see photo), where a small section of cover is missing (about 1cm in size). This follows over to the rear of the cover where it is much less significant with a few mm missing. At some point in its life it has probably been dropped or knocked on it's bottom edge to cause this. Otherwise, the sleeve is in very good condition overall with no spine splits (apart from the point mentioned) and clean edges. The rear cover as is usual for a record of this age has some discoloration/mild marks but is otherwise clear with no writing or stickers.Laminated to front with flipback design and paper rear. Couple of small indentations to top of rear flipback.
I go on Record Collector gradings generally,but give a fuller description as above because they are a bit simplistic to cover all variables.Therefore, check my feedback and bid with confidence.
