Dirty Projectors - Rise Above | [ Vinyl LP] |

Description:

Dirty projectors is the baby of brooklyn based david longstreth. He then invited likeminded, talented musicians on board to from a full band. 'rise above' is longstreth's genius re-interpreation, created from memory (!), of hardcore legends black flag's seminal 1980s album, 'damaged'. The result is one of the most original albums of 2007 and nothing like the original except for embodying some classic punk rock spirit! the beautiful interlocking guitars and gorgeous vocal harmonies evoke something close to a melting pot of prince, bjork, antony hegarty and joni mitchell whilst grizzly bear's chris taylor has added a rich textured dimension via his subtle production duties. On rough trade.
