You are bidding on a rare copy of Dennis Ryder's "Let Me Take You To The Kingdom", issued by Hosanna Records in 1973. This album is well known in Christian circles and is included in archivist Ken Scott's book "Vintage Vinyl Jesus Music". His review is quoted below. "This album's one of the better acoustic sets to come out of the States. Combining classical guitar with layered vocals and double acoustic leads, the effect is often mysterious and moody. There's a lot of classical influence here - parts made me think I was listening to Christopher Parkening. A pair of recorders join in at a couple parts recalling the intro to ‘Stairway To Heaven'. ‘The Worship Song' is nothing more than a pipe organ, guitar, and Ryder's mildly twangy vocals. Light electric organ here and there - ‘Make It Right' sounds a bit like Dylan's ‘Lay Lady Lay'. The original cover has a beautiful intricate illustration of Dennis walking beside a stream with Christ in the background. The photo of Dennis on the back was later enlarged and placed on the front for the Windy Distribution pressing." (Ken Scott - Archivist) Condition of both the record and jacket are excellent. Aside from one extremely light paper scuff on side "A", there are no blemishes on the vinyl and it displays like-new gloss. The only condition issue worth mentioning is that it has a slight edge warp which does not affect play. Both sides sound fine with no significant pops or hiss. The jacket is still in shrink with just a bit of very minor shelf wear to both bottom corners. Also, the name "Thomas" is written lightly in pen near the side "A" song listing on the back cover. The former owner apparently lifted up the edge of the shrink to do so. Ordinarily, I am bothered by this, but on this particular record it is not terribly distracting because the cover art is quite busy. Other than that, the jacket is clean and bright with no splits or significant wear. This is a very nice copy of a record that is not often seen.
