Description

An original 1st press of MH on the UK Purple label. Matrix A1/B1. Stampers 1ML/2PG. Please note the labels mention 'Gramophone' in the perimeter text which is indicative of 1st issue. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold cover. Also included is the original patent nos inner sleeve and the original tri-fold lyric sheet. So 100% complete and 100% genuine.
Vinyl (Ex+) In beautiful condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection we struggled to make out a single mark - nice! A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Very little to find fault with and a nigh on perfect rendition. Quality clean audio from start to finish - even in those very low-key organ passages..it's a beaut for sure! We couldn't detect more than a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments. As good as the current reissues are nothing is going to hold a candle to a well preserved 1st press. It will wipe the floor with every other version...
Cover (Ex) In great condition and has clearly been looked after down the years. Might have graded a shade higher but for a one inch wear through on the top seam of the rear/right panel. Lovely shiny front with barely a crease! - ditto the rear. The interior is in lovely condition - no issues. Edge wear is very light, except for the one section mentioned above, and the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity. A superb original specimen.
Inner (Vg+) No splits, minimal ageing. A bit grubby in one or two spots.
Lyric Poster (Ex+) Perfect condition. No ageing. No markings.
