Description
An original 1st press of Machine Head on the UK Purple label. Matrix A1U/B1U. Stampers 2-PD/3-PT. The labels are consistent with 1st press and still hold the 'Gramophone' text at the perimeter. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original gatefold printed by Garrod & Lofthouse with a nice wide spine. Also included is the original lyric sheet and inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In absolutely superb shape and has clearly only seen the lightest use. Under close inspection we could only make out a couple of very light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an, at least, EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Quite possibly the best audition of this title to date...power and transparency are just THERE by the bag full! Interference is minimal. All we could detect was a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments [literally]...i.e. practically nothing! Plays as clean as you could possibly hope for and the audio is to die for....FINAL UPGRADE.
Cover (Ex+) Wowzers, it's not often the cover gives the vinyl a run for its money! This copy has been cared for like no other! Shiny like new with barely a crease front and back. Those colours are still bold and vivid just like the day it left the printers. The interior can often be a let down - not here!...Text and images are all pin sharp and there's not a hint of ageing. There's a bit of edge wear at the openings, but very little else worth mentioning. The spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains perfect rigidity and lies totally flat. What a specimen!
Lyric sheet (Ex+) Often found looking a bit ropey this example is practically factory fresh. And has certainly never seen a wall!
Inner (Ex) Light ageing with no splits.
