2 x 1sided DECCA TEST PRESSINGS

Details :  Often my customers around the world ask me if i have anything in my collection for sale that is truly ultra rare / one of a kind , so i have decided to give you the once only opportunity to own a recording that is firstly :Not known to exist and also a rare chance to own a prestigeous recording that no one else has or will ever possibly see again ! ,

A brief note on how these records have come to surface

Some time ago i was contacted by the son of a very well known high up Decca employee who had left his prestigeous collection of recordings to in the hope they would some day be of historical  importance and find a collector or museum which would appreciate the rareity and nature of these test recordings.

Mr Musgrave started to work at Decca 1n 1948 as an encyclopedic catalogue editor alongside Mr Nathans & Mr Roach , the system was to itemise new releases month by month under composer , title performer and serial number ,plus appropriate cross-references, then add the entries to the existing data bank so that a new complete catalogue could theoretically be put in hand at a moments notice, they worked from the recording session reports and label copy department to correct inadequate label information before the finished and subsequent released recordings.

As nearly all of the Decca employees had no personal interest in Classical Music he had shown a keen personal interest to Bill Townsey (Decca's second in-comand in charge of the record factory's output) after working closely with him for a number of months one day Mr Towney pointed to a pile of factory samples and told him to take his pick, knowing that he was very keen to listen to the very first test's of the original 1st recordings, back then no one was allowed to take home factory samples which would have resulted in the instant dismissal from Decca, the discs were single -sided test pressings with hand written labels there would only be 5 -10 copies being made for evaluation before the finished recordings were pressed for release all of remaining test pressings were destroyed apart from the ones he had been given by Mr Towney ,these were to form the nucleus of his collection.

Today this Legendary Reference Performance set of 2 x 1 sided test pressings are probably the only ones in existance,

therefore i am interested in serious collectors to participate in this once in a lifetime oppotunity to own these magnificent historical recordings.
