Description

Frankenchrist is the third studio album by Dead Kennedys, originally released in 1985 on Alternative Tentacles. The album continues the band's sharp political and social satire while expanding their sound beyond traditional hardcore punk. US and Canadian pressings list track B1 as "Jock-O-Rama (Invasion Of The Beef Patrol)", while releases in some other countries use the title "Macho-Rama." This is a USA LP

Collector's Note

Often considered one of the band's most ambitious releases, Frankenchrist features some of Dead Kennedys' most memorable songs, including MTV – Get Off The Air and the epic closer Stars And Stripes Of Corruption. The album remains a landmark of American hardcore punk and political punk rock.

For Listeners New to the Genre

If you're curious about classic American punk, Frankenchrist is an excellent place to start. Fast, sarcastic, intelligent, and fiercely independent, it captures the energy of 1980s hardcore while delivering commentary that still feels relevant decades later.
