ID no. 9007378 Title: De Falla: The Three Cornered Hat Test Pressing Artist: Jorga / LSO Product Condition: SS Cover Condition: VG Description: This auction is for a STILL SEALED single LP Test Pressing marked (A/B) of the Classic Records 200gram reissue of De Falla's "The Three Cornered Hat" with jacket. These highly collectible test pressings are from the first stamper and less than 20 exist. Test pressings reflect the closest you can get to the lacquers and hence have a special collectible value and store of value. Manuel de Falla's famed 3 Cornered Hat is a hard piece to perform with the latin sense of flair and excitement necessary to convey the wonder of the composition. Fiedler on RCA (LSC 2744) tries with some success to get the flair but is no equal for Argenta on London/Decca(CS 6050). The Jorga read with the London Symphony is electric from the first vocal burst! To say that Jorga owns this piece would not be an overstatement - it is exciting and largely festive in the way de Falla intended it to be! Jacket in very good condition.
Grading Scale: SS still sealed these are original factory seals and not rewraps M mint hardly played but open M- mint- played some but not much, no visible marks from handling VG+ very good+ played but taken care of excellently VG very good played and may show some light wear VG- very good- played and may have some very light surface scratches G+ good+ played and probably shows some wear and scratches G good to the point of well played and shows wear and scratches G- good- getting to a lot of play and poor handling F+ fair+ heavy wear and scratches but probably doesn´t skip F fair heavy wear and surface noise, with scratches F- fair- heavy wear and scratches that will probably cause skips P poor you are buying this record for its rarity, not sound quality* *We care not to have poor records unless they are so scarce that it is worth it.
