If your looking at this auction, I'm sure I do not need to tell you who or what the Dayglow's are all about. All I will say, they are among Canada's most important early Punk pioneers, and still make albums to this day. Period.
Up for auction is a one off acetate/test pressing to The Dayglow Abortions "Out of the Womb" LP.
This was the Dayglow's first LP, released in 1981 on the Canadian Sharpe Record Label. Most discographies state that only 500 were pressed, I contest that. I have spoken to Cretin of the Dayglow's in person, and he says the number was more around 1000-1200 pressed. The first 500 pressings came with hand made jackets, that is where the confusion is. Regardless, this is an impossible album to locate, they are cemented in peoples collections. Complete copies w/poster insert in Near Mint shape can fetch $1000.
What is offered here is a Acetate/test pressing of the above album. How many were cut? From my research it appears, maybe 3, all in Canadian collections.

- Labels are plain white, with penciled information, band name, album name, year, A & B, and black marker X's on both sides. Labels have some slight staining and wear. B-side has a hand written note, hard to read, but I think it says "Good cut, Good mix"
- Disc came alone, no jacket or sleeve. I will ship with Poly inner and outer jacket.

- (I have played this album ONCE, that is it, it plays perfect.)

- *REMEMBER* Acetates are very fragile!!! Do not continuously handle this record, and do not repeatedly play it!! If you do, it will effect the sound quality over time, these are NOT like regular vinyl pressings (but I'm sure you folks know that). My suggestion to the buyer, dub this to digital. Just my thoughts about the preservation of this piece).
All my records are visually graded, and play tested, on a Technics 1200mk w/Ortofon Concorde head and stylus.
Record will be shipped with protective outer and inner sleeves, and be well protected to ensure safe arrival. Winner MUST pay for insurance. S&H within North America, including insurance of up to ($500), is $12.50.
