Description
I am reluctantly selling the second tranche of my precious – and rare – Bowie albums. For speed, I have only included pics of the front and back covers but, rest-assured, the records and any inserts will be as per described and if any purchaser is not satisfied with what they have bought I will accept a full refund (Buyer to pay for return postage of the item). Most of the covers show a sticker (top left) outlining the items including the condition of the sleeve and record(s). These are my own stickers (for my own filing system) and are affixed to a clear plastic outer sleeve (not the actual record sleeve.
All items have a £1 starting bid with no minimum bid.
ABOUT THIS SPECIFIC RECORD:
The Man Who Sold The World
Mercury SR 61325 Stereo - RED
Near Mint sleeve. Excellent labels.
USA
This is the counterfeit version - due to the hand etched matrix numbers and positioning of the speech bubble on the back cover.
In 1973, following the phenomenal success of Ziggy Stardust, bootleggers made 25,000 counterfeits of the US cartoon cover album. This effectively flooded the market and inadvertently increased the price of the originals (with stamped matrix numbers).
This album is one such album. As well as hand-etched matrix numbers, this one can be distinguished from the original by the ‘soft focus’ of the $ symbol in the title on the cover.
If you are buying more than one item, please DO NOT PAY until I have contacted you after the sale. I will calculate the weight (and cost) of the multiple albums and will send you the ACTUAL postage cost for the multiple purchase.
Thank you.
