Description
Nicely preserved, rare and original copy of David Bowie's 1973 release of "Pin-Ups" (This LP features cover versions of some of Bowie's favourite 60's songs - and it's good)
This album is presented on the RCA (orange) Recording label - Catalogue number is RS - 1003
About the album:
The Outer Sleeve:
Remains in its original factory issue format with no writing rips or tears, bearing only the most minimal signs of ageing (please see photo's) the corners,sides and spine are all well preserved for its age
The Inner Sleeve:
Is the factory pressed white paper insert and is in clean order.
It is accompanied by a double sided poster - which is in good clean order (please see photos)
The Vinyl:
Presents on both sides with an excellent clear glossy sheene.
Side One:
A close visual examination under bright lighting conditions reveals one or two very light hairline but visible scratches and surface marks that are not of any particular concern to me, I have played this side and on my audio equipment the sound reproduction is of excellent quality and faithful.As with any vinyl - even new one can detect the occasional crack and pop consistent with hard to detect surface marks or dust - particularly on quitter sections of the album and on intro's play off's, with the right cleaning cloth these can be eradicated. At no time on side one is there any skipping, jumping or sticking notwithstanding the marks I have mentioned , I have tried to capture them on the photo's.
Side Two:
Similarly,a close visual examination under bright lighting conditions of side two reveals one or two very light hairline scratches / surface marks that are not of any particular concern to me, again, I have played side two and on my audio equipment the sound reproduction is of excellent quality and faithful. As with any vinyl - again, one can detect the occasional crack consistent with hard to detect surface marks or dust on quitter sections of the album - there is though, no skipping, jumping or sticking througout the entire duration of side two.
Overall, and in my considered opinion,this album plays to an excellent audio standard.
The record labels are in very good order.
Of note, the label states that the actual vinyl is manufactured in Canada whereas the albums sleeve is manufactured in London W1.
