Description
This is the Random Access Memories Deluxe Box Set Edition released by Daft Punk back in 2014. Only 2500 units of it were made. I've had this copy since I was a teenager, but after almost 10 years of owning it have to let it go.
Unfortunately, due to a combination of me owning it at a time when I did not have the knowledge I have now of how to properly care for my own vinyl collection and inherent manufacturing issues the box set shipped to me with, there are multiple points of wear and damage on this copy (all of which will be listed and elaborated on below as well as having their own corresponding pictures), hence the significantly reduced price of this copy in comparison to other listings on sites such as Ebay and Discogs.
Issues/Damage
- Portions of the cloth on the side of the box has come loose from it's bound, as well as showing some loose cloth threads
- A small amount of gold foil has worn off from the stamped "Random Access Memories" logo on the box.
- The upper part of both folds of the RAM vinyl have noticeable tears on them. There is also a small crease on near the top left corner. This is unfortunately how the vinyl came shipped to me in the sealed box and was likely the result of mishandling in transit.
- The Giorgio Moroder interview 10" vinyl has the same type of tear on roughly the same location. Both this and the RAM vinyl will ship to the buyer with extra protection on them to prevent further damage in transit.
- The RAM vinyl in general has noticeable, repeating clicks/pops throughout playback; multiple professional cleans of this vinyl since have not mitigated this problem, so this is simply how the vinyl shipped to me, either through damage in transit or just being a poor pressing in general.
- The top layer of the Thomas Bangalter helmet schematic has numerous dents. May be hard to see in the respective photo.
- The hardcover photo book is in mostly excellent condition, although page 46 has a black ink line on the photo with Guy Manuel. Likely a printing error.
- The Thomas USB Drive has some unknown markings that spoil it.
- The data on both USB drives (high quality RAM track files and LYTD music video + promo videos) is corrupted; from what I can gather this is a problem that all copies of the box set come with. They can be formatted and replaced with your own files should you wish.
Thanks for reading and considering this item. Daft Punk forever.
