Description
I found a few more audiophile recordings in my collection! (My lack of organization might be your gain.) This is an ORIGINAL LP pressing of “Dafos,” Reference Recordings RR-12. Recorded in 1983, this is THE legendary audiophile classic recorded by “Professor” Keith Johnson and mastered at 45 RPM for ultimate vinyl sound quality. It features the Grateful Dead’s Mickey Hart, Flora Purim and Airto.
One of the cuts (I forget but I think it’s “The Gates of Dafos” features one of the players DROPPING the drum set on the ground to create a low-frequency “boom” that is downright scary on a big high-end audio system. Start with the volume down – the dynamic range on this record is incredible. If you’re an audiophile, you KNOW what this record is – one of the greatest-sounding records ever.
The cover is in Excellent Plus condition with just a little crease, spine and corner wear. The Inner sleeve is in exceptional shape. The disc is in Excellent Plus to Near Mint condition – judging by the spindle wear I’d say it was played once, maybe twice, if that.
I have been collecting records, CDs and tapes for over 45 years and have decided to begin selling items from my collection as I no longer have the time to listen or the room to keep all my records. Keep your eyes open for many more records up for auction as time goes on. All of my records have been fanatically well kept over the decades in a smoke-free home.
