Duke Jordan “Flight to Jordan” Blue Note 4046 RVG “P” Original Vinyl.
This the 1960 original, deep-groove, RVG-stamped Blue Note “P”-pressing of Duke Jordan’s “Flight To Jordan” on the Blue Note Records Inc 47 West 63rd NYC labels of Blue Note BLP 4046. “P” or Ear in deadwax. “R” after “Note” on label. Musicians include Jordan, Dizzy Reece, Stanley Turrentine, Reginald Workman, Art Taylor.
VINYL has varying degrees of Light to Moderate surface noise, which as with all Lexington to New York USA Blue Note pressings, does not detract from the tremendous music pressed to these deep grooves. Some sections, some solos moderate tizz or distortion can be heard. Side 1 several long scratches, none feelable. Side 2 several scratches, two of which are audible. Side 2, track 1 brief repeating tick. Side 2, track 3 tizzy trumpet and piano solos. Good gloss both sides.
Labels are clean but show spindle marks and signs of moderate wear.
Strongly Laminated COVER has two-inch top seam split. Corners worn, two tears on right side opening. 43 West 61, New York 23 back jacket shows signs of wear.
This LP was play-tested on a high-end system consisting of Music Hall MMF-7.3 turntable/Ortofon Bronze cartridge, Heed Audio Elixir integrated amplifier, Heed Quasar Phono stage and Quad S2 speakers (with very revealing ribbon tweeters). Record cleaned on VPI 16.5.
