Description

Up for auction -

PENDULUM - VAULT / TWISTED INDIVIDUAL - CRAP RINSE OUT (TWISTED & APB REMIX) 12" MASTERPIECE DUBPLATE.

This is a metal & lacquer dubplate and it was owned by a very well known DJ however it has seen very little action so plate is still in an Excellent Condition !!! (Please note: I think I should just point out that the line that appears to be on the across the records diameter in some of the photos are the reflections of lines on my ceiling they aren't on the vinyl). The cover is the original MASTERHOUSE Sleeve, which is made of thick card and is still in Near Mint Condition !!! I will also include a protective outer plastic sleeve (see last photo).

I'm going to be adding more like this every week over the next few months so click on 'follow this seller' so you don't miss out on some sought after stuff as I've got loads of very rare dubplates that once belonged to the likes of DJ SS. Mickey Finn, Grooverider, Kenny Ken, Shimon, Dr S.Gachet, Phantasy, Daz Ellis from M.T.S. & many more. Plus they all come with a full money back guarantee if your not happy with the condition descriptions so you can bid with confidence.

... and for those that don't know - This is not a normal record, this is a Dubplate Lacquer Acetate which weigh a lot more than a normal records as they have metal plate inside them, and they have a distinctive smell as you can actually smell the lacquer on the plate.

"Dubplate": Dubplate can refer either to an exclusive tune that only people with clout have access to or the acetate disk that those exclusive tunes are cut onto for play. Physically, a dubplate is a 10" or 12" slab of metal covered with an acetate lacquer that is spun on a lathe and has music "cut" into it. This is actually the first step in manufacturing any vinyl record. If vinyl is going to be pressed, the dub is then electroplated and the mold for the vinyl is cut from it.

"Acetates":  Aluminum discs of various sizes (7, 10 or 12 inch) with a thin coating of shellac or vinyl.  These discs are not pressed like regular vinyl issues.  Instead, they are INDIVIDUALLY cut by the master cutter as a "pre" test pressing to give directions as to how the final cut should go.  As such, EACH acetate is unique, and acetates constitute some of the rarest items in the whole field of record collecting." Acetate/Lacquer Is usually a reference cut that is made on ultra high-grad methyl cellulose sprayed onto thick aluminum discs. Reference acetates are primarily to make certain the record will sound somewhat like the tape. Often they are also made to allow a club or radio disc-jockey to play the music on turntables before it has been pressed as a normal record. Acetate is a misnomer (but frequently used!). It is actually a Lacquer."
