PLEASE NOTE: THIS ITEM COMES FROM THE INCREDIBLE, SINGLE-OWNER COLLECTION WE ACQUIRED A WHILE AGO, IN WHICH ITEMS ORIGINALLY BOUGHT BY THE OWNER FROM THE MID-'60s to THE MID-'70s WERE KEPT STILL SEALED IN A NEAR-LABORATORY, TIME-CAPSULE CONDITIONS AND IN PRACTICALLY CLIMATE- AND HUMIDITY- CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT.  CONDITIONS OF SOME OF THESE ITEMS RANGE FROM IMPECCABLE TO TRULY UNBELIEVABLE. This is Dragonfly's sole 1968 release, an increasingly sought after collectable, Dragonfly stands as one of the psych genres' bigger mysteries.  The group offered an excellent set of fuzz guitar-propelled psych/hard rock. With it's virtually non-stop fuzz guitar onslaught, what's not to like? This is a true psych head's wet dream. Somewhat heavy, but very hard, guitar driven psych/hard rock, with garage influences, strong West Ccoast flavor, the aforementioned extensive fuzz guitar, lots of psych effects, including echo and backwards tape loops. It's got it all. And though most bands of this genre attempt to insert at least one soft ballad to show they are capable of more than just one thing, these guys crash out of the gate and never look back. Strong melodies and searing vocals made original material such as 'Blue Monday', 'Enjoy Yourself' and 'I Feel It' well worth hearing. Personal favorites were the fuzz and backward guitar drenched 'Crazy Woman' and the extended closing number 'Miles Away'.  Overall the collection was nothing short of great.  Wish I could tell you more about the LP, but there were no performance credits to be found on the slim liner notes.

(b)            The record is  apparently pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(c)           Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!
