CONDITION

VINYL

I WOULD DESCRIBE THE OVERALL CONDITION OF THE VINYL AS EXCELLENT

A SIDE

SHOWS VERY FEW SIGNS OF WEAR AND THERE ARE NO MARKS OR DEEP SCRATCHES OR EVEN HAIRLINE MARKS

THERE IS MINOR SPINDLE WEAR BUT THE ALBUM ACTUALLY LOOKS UNPLAYED

B SIDE

 SAME AS A SIDE

OVERALL

THE VINYL IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND SHOWS NO SIGNS OF IT'S AGE

I WOULD GRADE THIS MUCH HIGHER THAN EXCELLENT BUT I AM BEING VERY CONSERVATIVE IN MY GRADINGS AS IT DOES LOOK MINT AND UNPLAYED BUT THIS IS ONLY A VISUAL GRADING AND I AM AWARE THAT THIS ONE HAS BEEN PLAYED

SLEEVE

I WOULD GRADE THE SLEEVE AS BEING IN EXCELLENT CONDTION

FRONT

THERE IS ONE TEAR TO LEFT HAND SIDE TREE AND TWO TO THE RIGHT HAND SIDE ONE ALL THE WAY TO THE SPINE (VISIBLE ON PIC)

WEAR TO BOTTOM SEAM OF FOLD OUTS (SCUFFED ALL THE WAY ALONG ON BOTH FOLD OUTS)

SOME MINOR CREASING

CORNER WEAR TO ALL 4 CORNERS

BACK

SOME RING WEAR AND MINOR CREASING

OVERALL

OVERALL IN EXCELLENT CONDITION CONSIDERING IT'S AGE.

NO WRITING OR TEARS.

THE COLOUR SEEMS TO HAVE REMAINED INTACT AND THERE ARE NO SIGNS OF SUN BLEACHING

I IMAGINE THIS SLEEVE IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND IN MINT CONDITION AS THE FOLD OUT PARTS ARE QUITE DELICATE (HENCE THE TEARS)

IF ANY MORE PICS ARE REQUIRED THEN PLEASE MAIL ME

---------------------------------

I am in the process of listing a huge record collection from the sixties and seventies. My father-in-law needs some cash so instead of letting his collection gather dust he has asked me to sell it for him. He does not have an Ebay account or the time to list but he does have a fantastic collection.

He has been an eclectic collector of music for over 40 years and bought records each week as they came out. For this reason I am confident that they are all first pressings. The 30 or so records I am listing over the next week are a selection chosen at random from his full collection. Often, he would buy a record simply for the cover so a large number of the records in the collection are unplayed. I can guarantee that these records have had one careful owner who has treated the discs with utmost respect and only ever played them on top quality stereo equipment

I have been buying and selling records on Ebay for a while now but this type of music is not my field of expertise by any means (The Smiths if you ask). For that reason I have tried to research as much as possible and have asked the advice of people with more expertise than myself (many thanks by the way). I also took this selection to my local record dealer and he was amazed at the variety and the quality of both the vinyl and the sleeves considering they are all nearly 40 years old. I was told that the problem with records of this age on smaller labels is that they were generally pressed on light weight vinyl and are therefore more prone to damage.

I will grade the records visually according to The Record Collectors grading system and will err on the side of caution. I do not want to write War and Peace but I will try and include any information I consider relevant.

If you require a play grading then please let me know as this will not be too much of a problem but I do not want to risk such rare vinyl on my own turntable. My stepfather has a top of the range turntable which he is willing to loan me if the need arrives.

If any further pictures or any information at all is required then please use the ask the seller a question link on the page and I will do my best to give you a swift and honest response.

As I stated earlier this is just a small fraction of the collection as a whole. I will be getting further deliverys when my mother and sister in law visit the wife, children and I.  If there are any particular record(s) that you are looking for then please drop me a line and I will find out whether he has it/them in the collection and they can be brought to Manchester from London in the next batch.
