Description
This is the original UK LP by the DOWNLINERS SECT, THE SECT, 1964 1st Press Mono, on the black and blue COLUMBIA label 33SX 1658, with "Columbia Gramophone Co.Ltd" rim label credit, "Recording First Published 1964" and "Sold in the UK" label credits, the LP comes complete with the original "Use Emitex" die-cut inner sleeve. Matrix numbers are, side 1:- XAX 2729-1N, side 2:- XAX 2730-1N, stamping codes are, side 1:- 1/O, side 2:- 1/G.
The original UK 1964 1st issue Mono E.J DAY flipback cover is in VG+++ condition, lovely and clean, front and back, the back shows a little wear, and ageing, the laminated front is lovely and clean, with a few small area's of lamination creasing, which are not visually intrusive, their is a very small 2mm tear on the front right hand opening side, mid way up, the front opening corners have very small 1mm spilts, other than these very minor things, the cover has no other rips, tears or seam splits, their is no unwanted writing. A very respectable cover, and a very very differcult cover to find in this condition or better, as the whole of the cover is prodominately white, it's prone to alot of ageing, and general damage.
The vinyl is visually in VG+++ condition, with a few light marks on both sides, which donot effect the audio, I have played both sides (very carefully), and the vinyl plays superbly, at least EX++, the quality of the Mono is superb, playing with crisp clear clarity, their is only a little light crackle, mainly inbetween tracks, that all, a great playing vinyl.
The original Columbia Black and Blue label's are in EX condition, lovely and clean and crisp, with no unwanted writing, and no scuffs, the spindal hole only shows minimal wear, KT tax code is embossed in the centre of side 1's label.
The vinyl is housed in it's original UK 1964 "Use Emitex" die-cut inner sleeve and in MINT- condition, lovely and clean and crisp, with no unwanted writing, and no seam splits.
Altogether a very respectable copy of this original 1964 UK 1st press Mono LP by the DOWNLINERS SECT, THE SECT, a CLASSIC and RARE 1960's British R'n'B LP.
