"One of the earliest and rarest records that Dorothy Ashby played on as a Studio Musician. A rare seven inch record playing at 33 1/3 rpm called “Benmark Presents Fat Bob” This record apparently was produced for “The March of Dimes” for that organization to distribute free of charge in the local Detroit area in the 1960s.
Robert “Fat Bob” Taylor was a local Detroit singer who promoted himself as a singer as “Fat Bob, The Singing Plumber”. He actually worked as a plumber to support himself. Robert Taylor also eventually became a local Detroit area disc jockey on stations WJR and WAAM in Ann Arbor, Mich. He died in 1995."
