Description
Up for auction is an ultra rare U.S. white label promotional copy of The Doors 1969 classic "The Soft Parade" on the Elektra label! These rarely come up for auction, this lp has been in my personal collection for many years and sadly I must let it go. Elekta didn't make a lot of these so don't let this one pass you by!
Cover is VG+ with no seam splits or writing, overall light wear, top seam has some cracking and paper loss but is not split.
Vinyl is VG++ play graded, has lots of gloss and some light surface marks that can be seen under bright light. At some point before I got this lp a hairline crack developed, the starting point can be spotted on the side 1 label above the word "stereo" and goes through the deadwax and barely into the last song on each side. I listened very carefully to both sides and noticed only minimal background noise in a few spots, no skips or repeats and most importantly the hairline crack did not affect the playback on either side! The whole lp sounded great on my system!Labels have only a hint of spindle wear and the custom inner sleeve is NM- with no splits and a couple wrinkled spots. Nothing compares in sound to these promotional copies!!
