Description

DONALD BYRD ”Royal Flush” RVG, Blue Note BLP 4101 Mono Vinyl

This is the “VAN GELDER” stamped pressing of DONALD BYRD’s “Royal Flush” on the “New York USA” labels of Blue Note BLP 4101. Musicians include Bud Powell – piano, Paul Chambers – bass, Art Taylor – drums.

VINYL plays with very light consistent surface noise (i.e, crackle, static, ?? or ????, relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with pops and ticks. But ensemble sections are clear, dynamic and strong. No distortion. No skips. Good gloss. A handful of hairline marks, none feelable. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The “New York USA” labels are clean, spindle wear. See photos.

COVER is in very good shape. Corners worn. Spine and seams in excellent shape. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC., 43 West 61strd St., New York 23” back jacket shows fading, signature in red and blue ink. Please see photos.

This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC CLEANER.
