This is a fine example of late 60's UK jazz with the Quintet at its peak and is highly sought after.
Now for the info...the LP ins NOT mint!!!!BUT...will another copy crop up and will this do till another copy appears? This is a brilliant album and is still perfectly listenable, especially the first side .
SIDE 1 ~ four/five light surface marks towards centre of side but overall plays VG/Vg+
track 1 Crazy Jane...sounds really good with a little surface noise at the start but fine as the track progresses. The stereo separation is superb and there is no distortion.
track 2 On!..magnificant uptempo ..great bass/drums interplay..can't find fault with this track.
track 3 Les Neiges...A slower improvised track has some surface noise but stil plays undistorted.
SIDE 2 ~some surface marks and a small mark a quater of the way thro'track 2 (see scan 5)...audible surface noise at quieter moments...overall I would grade as Vg ..the music still shines thro' the imperfections and is not in any way distorted. The Lp has not been played a great deal and I suspect was left out of its sleave for a time, hence side 2 imperfections
track 1 Black Sheba...surface noise over bass intro and slight backgound noise throughout the track.A light scuff gives minor clicks halfway through the track noticable at quieter moments.
track 2 Black Marigolds...another long and impressive track....again surface/noise especially during quieter moments...a mark on this track (see scan 5) gives a minor clicks but plays through...the track builds to an impressive climax with the band at their peak.
PLEASE BID ON THE LP accordingly..overall the music is still magnificent...I hope I have given an accurate description and remember...
NO QUIBBLE MONEY BACK GUARANTEE IF UNHAPPY WITH PURCHASE.
