Don Rendell & Ian Carr Quintet - Change Is - EMI Lansdowne Series SCX 6368 stereo

Ignored when originally released in 1969, history has revealed that this album, along with its companion Dusk Fire,  is one of the best UK jazz LPs ever recorded. The LP was hard to find back then and only sold in a few specialist stores, finding one now is extremely difficult if only for the demand and high price that this cult album commands.

The quintet is made up of Ian Carr, Don Rendell, Michael Garrick, Dave Green and Trevor Tomkin. Additional or replacement musicians on some tracks include Mike Pyne, Jeff Clyne, Guy Warren and Stan Robinson. Songs are Elastic Dream, One Green Eye, Boy Dog & Carrot, Cold Mountain, Black Hair and Mirage. This was the final Rendell/Carr LP to be recorded at EMI studios in Lansdowne Rd, London and as you might expect the pressing is absolutely first rate with the rich, superior sound that we have come to expect from all Lansdowne jazz LPs.

Here is your rare opportunity to get a genuine UK original stereo LP issue, possibly at a bargain price due to sleeve damage on the reverse, although the vinyl itself is super clean.

Vinyl is NM shows few signs of play, no marks or scratches, very nice clean condition. Label of Side A shows some minor water damage, that of Side B is fine.

Sleeve is VG the front is OK with laminate intact and without any holes, cuts, tears, abrasions, stickers, writing or splits, but has moderate creasing top left and bottom left corners. There is however water damage on the back which obscures some of the text, but generally affects just the top and centre portion (see pic)
