Edge of Time, a remarkable find for early experimental Krautrock enthusiasts, is a stunning folk-avant-garde album recorded in 1970 by a quartet with members from Germany, Poland and Hungary. Dom leans towards the acoustic and dreamy side with soft hand percussion, acoustic instruments, space synths, and abundant flute, creating a true astral experience. Their hallucinogenic music, reminiscent of early Pink Floyd and Cluster, takes listeners on a cosmic journey, yet remains distinctively original. Second Battle's re-mastering preserves this gem with excellent bonus tracks and intriguing artwork. The album's minimal acoustic material, blended with soft organs, flutes, and peculiar sounds, creates a dream-like atmosphere. Sparse vocals, mainly on the title track, enhance the album's ethereal quality, complemented by a beautiful flute solo. Krautrock elements and familiar sounds, like the drum fill from 'In The Court Of The Crimson King' in 'Silence,' add to the album's charm. Both 'Flotenmenschen' and 'Let Me Explain' are notable new additions to thie reissue. This album is essential for fans of rare, obscure 70s rock/folk and Krautrock.
