Collision

Over/Shadow

12" Cat: OSH 45
Rel: 13 Apr 26
Drum & Bass / Jungle Side 1. Collision Side 2 - Track 1. Those Days Side 2 - Track 2. Soul & Science

A core Moving Shadow figure steps back in, as UK jungle originator DJ Trax returns with 'Collision' on Over/Shadow, following the money back to 90s hardcore and d&b foundations. Real name David Davies, Trax has long worked a precise, break-led style, said breaks hub-plated by girthy bass layering beneath - naut ever sounds thin or wanting. 'Collision' and 'Those Days' betray as much, straddling tempos between d&b and broken beat, beats landing like gunshots and hi-fives respectively. The B-side takes a more reflective turn after the A's initial jumpscare, 'Soul & Science' the sole liquid experiment.
