Buena Vista Records (Disneyland Pressings - Book Release) STER-101 -
RARE & SIMPLY GRAND!

I cannot fathom how to tell you what I feel when I hold this set in my hands.

At once, I guess, I am the child…the adult in me, the collector, simply looking on as witness. That the color plates, one after the other, bring me back to my first viewing of FANTASIA goes without saying. But there, past the broad smile of the child, and that man named Disney, there is also a rich, fervant admiration within me, of the vinyl collector.

That, yes, this was the first stereo presentation on film is a fact. But that it was a man of letters and notes in Stokowski, who partnered musically with the Philadelphia, oh yes, but also with a little friend, with such large, innocent ears, in Mickey, leaves me breathless, feeling in the presence of something very special.

Each color plate, direct from the Disney Studios, tells a tale of imagination, with marching brooms, dancing hippopotami, mushroom fairies... It is an event, this package, a bit of vinyl, pop culture, unmatched in my view.

[I was told by someone dear, who knows me as a record lover, that recently upon showing this to a friend, that I handled it differently, most gently, turning the pages with reverence, holding it to me afterwards as if it were a personal treasure.]

This is the last issue ever released with the deluxe gatefold booklet, that, I tell you, is very fine indeed, in near perfect shape. The three Disneyland platters should play near mint; the booklet prints as crisp and clean as the day they were made.

An extraordinary piece of vinyl literature. As much ashine in its presence, as the beaming boy who freed Excalibur from the stone.

In the annals of LP packages, deem this one “Forever young.”
