WOW!! WOW!! WOW!!! MEGARARE and HARD-TO-FIND original High Fidelity MONO Capitol Records very first press released, made and distributed in Chile in 1963 by Industrias Eléctricas Y Musicales Odeon, S.A. (Odeon Records), catalog number F 4939, with machine etched matrix numbers VD45-39246 N1 (“N” inverted) in Side A and VD45-39261 N1 (“N” inverted) in Side B, with green/silver Odeon Records labels and push-out center!!! Yes, Sirs, ANOTHER FIND from Chile!!! Amazing rarity for all lovers, fans and collectors of Dick Dale and early days of rock’n’roll!!!

“Misirlou” was originally released in USA in April 1962 by Deltone Records and reissued by Capitol Records in March 1963 and the same year,1963, we could see this single released here in Chile and as you can see in both labels it’s informed the origin of the record, “A ‘DEL-TONE’ Recording”. Song titles are written in Spanish, translated to English, with full credits for songwriters and additional information about licenses and play time of each song, with the original price printed in Side A, even though it’s factory deleted in this copy, so this record is a very first press, but it’s also a second run. If you know this single, it’s very interesting to notice that original Deltone Records issue has the song title “MISERLOU” and credits for songwriters are “Tauber, Wise Rubanis, Leeds” but in the reissue by Capitol the song title is “MISIRLOU” and credits for songwriters are “Roubanis-Wise-Leeds- Russell”. As you can see in labels here in Chile the name of Russell is misspelled “RUSSEL”, with the last “L” omitted. So, here you have the chance to get and own this classic early rock’n’roll single by Dick Dale released in Chile in 1963, almost never seen and maybe auctioned here in eBay by the very first time, with UNIQUE GREEN ODEON RECORDS LABELS and Spanish-written song titles!!! WOW!!! A MUST TO HAVE!!!

This record doesn’t have a cover. The record is in very nice EX- or EX condition both sides, glossy and clean, with only some light scuffs and hairlines, hard to see at first sight, which don’t affect play at all, with the push-out center intact. Labels are in great EX- or EX condition the Side A, clean and clear, with only some spindle hole wear and a white mark used to delete the original price printed, already deleted with a little paper, and in EX+ or NM- condition the Side B, with also some spindle hole wear and a faint blemish around the spindle hole too. The sound is in strong NM or even NM+ condition both sides, loud, clear and clean, virtually no background noise (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), with only some minimal and barely audible crackles in the last seconds of each song, which of course don’t cause any distraction from the loud and clear sound this record keeps from the beginning to the end. Overall, sure it’s still a record in a great condition and with still a superb sound quality after about 54 years, which won’t disappoint anyone!!! And don’t forget this is an UNIQUE RELEASE with GREEN CAPITOL RECORDS LABELS and with Spanish-written song titles, a record by the very first time auctioned here in eBay!!! Yes, Sirs, what a FIND!!! We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.
