Chances are you're a record collector, I'm a record collector, we're both nice honest people trying to get by in a cruel world. It's not too difficult to avoid misunderstandings, problems, etc.

MULTIPLE ITEMS: It’s great if you find multiple items of mine. !nsurance is your option if you live in the US. $1.30 up to $50 and $2.50 up to $200. Because of the US Post Office policies, !nsuring international packages is prohibitively expensive – it raises the cost of the postage by 200% AND requires a full value customs declaration. Same is true for registered mail, it's way more expensive and I prefer not to use it.

I use professional heavy cardboard LP mailers.

NOTE: This is a VINYL LP. It might be possible to get it into your CD player but it won’t be good for the LP or the CD player and whatever noises it may make will be entirely unexpected (and later issued as a box set on the kranky label under the name gods’s anise saliva or Peace Leopard Frequency or something. Hint #11: Don't buy it.).

GRADING: Grades are at the end of this listing. Unless a record is truly flawless or brand new but unsealed MINT MINUS (M-) is the highest grade given. The scale I use is from M- EX VG++ VG+ VG VG- G F P with VG+ representing the condition of most LPs that have been taken care of but played over the course of 10-20 years. VG- LPs are records that have significant surface scratches and noticeable noise but do not skip and are still enjoyable. Records in this condition will usually be listed only when they are copies of LPs that are particularly sought in M- condition.

Descriptions are often borrowed from listings in one of the Borderline Books (“Fuzz, Acid & Flowers,” “Tapestry of Delights,” “Dreams, Fantasies & Nightmares,” etc.) or from the All Music Guide site. I feel these are more objective than descriptions written by the people who are trying to get you to buy the record.

US (Diskmakers Test Pressing) 1972 VG++ 

Obscure, pretty impressive local studio-pop LP in the early 1970s post-Beatles style; songwriting as good as any major act, solid vocal harmonies, charming California Sunshine pop arrangements with extensive use of keyboards. One really bad track, rest of the LP is enjoyable to anyone with an ear for a clever McCartney/Boettcher/Emitt Rhodes excursion; comparisons to Left Banke have also been made. There was also a non-LP 45.

Recorded in Alabama. Breezy duo, Kurt Shore and Jim Stanton. Soft keys-led psych with harmonies. Lots of treated sounds, a bit like Dreamies. [RM]

Peculiar 70s pop album that is a product of its time but really doesn’t sound like anything else. In other hands these songs would have a quasi-McCartney feel but there’s a dreamy, dark aura that would never have made it on 70s radio. Takes a while to sink in; the songs are thoughtful and moody but not especially catchy. Wall of sound may have more to do with low budget production than intent. One goofy song with fake children’s vocals spoils the mood, but this is an interesting record nevertheless. [AM]

This is the real deal; a test pressing from 1972 of this never-reissued & very sought psychedelic private press LP.

This came to me via the legendary Dan Balcer of Philadelphia Record Exchange fame.

For the past 20+ years Dan and his 35,000+ LPs have lived directly above the Exchange and, like San Franciscans who have accepted the inevitablity of "the BIG one", the Record Exchange staff and customers understand that one day they will perish in a sudden rain of vinyl from above.

What better way for record collectors to die?  Crushed under the Exotica section? Flattened by crates of religious private-pressings? 

The morale is clear: BID today, for tomorrow we die.
