DEZERTER - Underground Out Of Poland LP
DEZERTER were the premier Polish hardcore band of the early '80s golden years, but the only way that they were able to release this LP of '81 - '85 recordings was to have Joey of Canada's DOA smuggle the tapes out of the country and back to the west in 1986. The resulting album was released by MRR in 1987 and, despite its importance to the history of both world '80s hardcore and to Polish rock music in general, the record was quickly allowed to fall out of print. It's a ripping LP, showing that Poland was by no means far behind the west in blasting out the fast, raw and angry attack of hardcore punk, and the lyrics too are great. This is not a bootleg or the NNNW repress, but an original '80s pressing of THE Polish hardcore LP!
Condition is very good, with a few minor cosmetic marks on the vinyl not affecting play, and the original insert (with Dezerter info on one side and a photo gallery of other Polish hardcore/punk bands of the time on the other) included. The jacket is in beautiful shape other than some imprinted marks on the back cover-- it appears that someone was writing punk rock songs on a paper over top of the jacket!
