The thick lustrous vinyl is nearly flawless, without marks scuffs, or scratches of any kind.Side two has (REVIEW COPY) stamped on label. The fidelity is superb,with no distortion, pops, clicks,or background noise of any kind.

There are virtually no marks, scuffs, or blemishes of any kind.This lp is stored in the original inner sleeve. One of the true jazz giants of the tenor, Dexter Gordon had an episodic career that included ups, downs and three major comebacks. He originally rose to fame during the second half of the 1940s, being one of the first saxophonists to understand and master bebop while developing his own original sound. His Los Angeles jam sessions with fellow tenors Wardell Gray and Teddy Edwards made him a legend. The 1950s were mostly an off period as drugs took its toll, but Gordon came back in the early 1960s with his sound and creative powers very much intact. His Blue Note recordings contain some of his most exciting playing, including 1961's Dexter Calling. Stretching out in a quartet also featuring pianist Kenny Drew, Gordon (an early influence on John Coltrane) shows what he in turn was learning from Coltrane's example. Whether embracing the themes of "Smile" and "The End Of A Love Affair" or sounding very contemporary on "Modal Mood," this is "long tall Dexter" at his very best.
