Description
This is a rare original 1963 first pressing of Dexter Gordon's Our Man in Paris LP on Blue Note mono BLP-4146. Demonstration copy, with record store demonstration sticker on the front, and also a promo, with "Promotion - Not For Sale" stamped twice on the back. Rudy Van Gelder's stamp on the runoff, as well as the ear mark. New York address labels, and a rare Blue Note inner sleeve. The disc has a bit of wear, with some marks and lines, which are largely superficial. Still shiny with no groove wear. Still plays pretty nicely. The music is clear and undistorted, with only a touch of background crackle in some places. The music is generally louder than the crackle, but it is noticeable in quiet parts, and more on side two than side one. Still it plays really nicely and thoroughly enjoyably. Not bad at all. The cover has some general wear as well, with a bit of fraying at the bottom of the spine, a seam split in the center of the bottom edge, and bad cornerwear on both right corners. Also there is a red X through the center of the back, with a $.98 price written. Still it is actually a pretty nice cover, compared to most. The spine is fully readable and the whole thing is really solidly intact. This is a pretty great original copy, all things considered, and a rare promo/demo.
