Description
Up for auction is the ridiculously RARE copy of THE DESERT SESSIONS Vol. II. STATUS: SHIPS COMMANDER BUTCHERED on translucent ORANGE 10 inch VINYL. This was recorded in 1997 at Rancho De La Luna, in Joshua Tree; and was released on FRANK KOZIK's long defunct label, MAN'S RUIN RECORDS. The release number is MR 082. Desert Sessions were the brainchild of Josh Homme, from Queens of the Stone Age, Screaming Trees, Kyuss and Eagles of Death Metal. The other guys on the record are Homme's band-mates, Alfredo Hernandez, Brant Bjork, Jesse Hughes and Dave Catching (also of Peaches), Soundgarden's Ben Sheppard, Fred Drake, Pete Stahl and, from label-mates Monster Magnet, John McBain. If you're looking at this, then you already know how infrequently these come up for auction. the last one of these on eBay sold for $169.16. Don't let this one get away!!!
The track listing is as follows:
A Side:
“JOHNNY THE BOY”
“SCREAMIN EAGLE”
B Side:
“CAKE (WHO SH*T ON THE?)”
The matrix numbers in the run-off are all etched, and read as follows:
A Side: L-49777 MR 082-A (then Kozik's scribbled signature)
B Side: L-49777X MR 082-B (then Kozik's scribbled signature)
The fold-over card sleeve has sharp corners and is in NEAR MINT condition. The vinyl is in NEAR MINT condition with no scratches. You won't ever find a better copy. Good luck finding another copy anywhere!!!
