• I grade CD's the same as vinyl.
• Gradings for the cover are listed first, followed by the media in the description.
• I keep it as simple as possible! Normal gradings are too complex for most people and too easily misused.
• I also tend to err on the side of caution when grading. You may well find the condition is better than you were expecting.
• NEW Self-Explanatory. Purchased when the item was released and in our spares room ever since. The item has it's full gloss, no marks, and any labels are in clean condition. It has been fully restored to remove any pressing plant dust, checked and is in absolutely brilliant condition! Perfect for the demanding collector!
• MINT Brought in after release [may still be new], details the same as above.
• EXCELLENT Literally only a few light marks normally caused by taking the item out of it's sleeve/case. The item has it's full gloss, and any labels are in clean condition. It has been fully restored and checked and is in absolutely brilliant condition! Perfect for the demanding collector! [Dealers usually mark this as M-]

• GOOD Everything else gets listed as good and detailed in the description. These will need to be quite rare as spares that just rate as GOOD are normally shredded and recycled.

THE KRT MUSIC ARCHIVE [LONDON]

• The KRT MUSIC ARCHIVE is a privately owned music archive based in West London, near Heathrow airport.
• The archive tries to collect music and collate information on a wide as range as possible. All musical styles, signed and unsigned artists, and from all over the world. It's impossible to buy it all but thankfully I do get assisted by some record companies and artists which help tremendously with new music and of course the search for those oldies never ends.
• I buy collections and unwanted stock to improve my own archive collection. Any extra copies that are in brilliant condition are restored and placed in the spares room. There they stay until someone asks for it and selected items are placed here on eBay.
• Not being a music dealer means I don't have clear-outs after 6 months to get rid of unsold stock, and I can spend more time and trouble in the storage and presentation of items. Here, I try and preserve items for future generations.
• Do we have a website? Chance would be a fine thing! Haven't got time to write one! Apart from helping our regular contacts [Public, Artists, DJ's, Researchers etc] there isn't much time for anything else. Maybe one day!

SERIOUS BIDDERS ADVICE

• IMPORTANT It is my experience that many people bid in the last 15 seconds of an auction to stop another bidder from placing a higher bid. If you have ever lost an item through a last minute bidder, you should consider the advice underneath very carefully until the time eBay changes it's procedures and manages to keep auctions active until bidding has stopped.
• This section is for anyone who DEFINATELY wants to obtain one of my items and is aimed at giving you the best chance of securing it. Try and be at your PC at the auctions closing time.
• eBay is not a 'true' auction site, as 'true' auctions continue until bidding stops. eBay auctions finish at a specific time regardless of bidding acitivity. This changes the way you should place bids for items you want.
• 9 out of 10 items don't have more than one bid placed on them, and it is a buyers market on eBay. So normally you will get the item for it's starting price.
• THE BEST CHANCE OF OBTAINING THE ITEM YOU WANT IS......
• [1] Use the WATCH THIS ITEM link to keep track of items your interested in on eBay. But avoid the trap of using it to only place bids at the end of an auction. How many items have you lost an item because you forgot, were doing something else, or didn't have time to put a second bid in against a another bidder?
• [2] Decide how much your willing to pay for the item and enter the FULL amount. For example let's say the item's starting price is 5. Your willing to go to 20, then bid 20. The item bid is now 5, and in most cases it will stay there, and the item will be yours for 5.
• If someone bids 6, the item goes to 7 and so on. Most bidders are bargain hunters and they will bid by small amounts and give up if the first bid is unsuccessful.
• Bidding wisely is the best way of securing the item. eBay will tell you via e-mail if someone has outbid you and then you can decide wether you wish to up your bid, but in most cases you will never have to do this, and it saves you an awful lot of time by bidding sensibly in the first place.
• KRT AUCTION ENDING TIMES
• Most of the time our auctions will end around 8.30pm to 9.00pm U.K. time.
• PLEASE NOTE. The U.K. puts it's clocks forward and back twice a year. [Bear this in mind, it messes up the ending times]

RESTORATION

• All items have been fully restored [by hand] to as near their original condition as possible and re-sealed [excluding oversized items]. As you can see by my feedback, my customers can be 'suprised' at the 'new' look, feel and sound of our used items.
• A full restoration of an item [in this case a vinyl record] consits of the following, all done by hand. [1] Normal wiping with Professional Record Cleaning fluid to remove obvious fingerprints, dust etc. [2] Immersing in a temperature-critical 'bath' and wiping until all contaminates have been removed from the vinyl. [3] Rinsing in a second temperature-critical 'bath', [4] Hand-wipe to get surface fluid off the vinyl, [5] Air-drying, [6] Polishing, [6] Visually and Audibly checking the item.
• I don't go to the extreme of removing 'bonded' contaminates from the vinyl. A click is much less annoying than a thump from a pothole which can distort the musical image.
• The end result is a vinyl that looks, feels and sounds like new. The restoration process doesn't remove scratches or marks on the vinyl, but what's important is the sound, and that is usually much improved. Even with a brand new item.
• I restore CD's as well as Vinyl. Why? Because the small holes in the top of the case allow the air to get in and can deposit pollutants on the surface which can result in a CD becomming unplayable.
• We are constantly restoring items for ourselves and our contacts, but please note that this is a specialist service that a record dealer or shop cannot supply and it would be unfair to expect them to.
• WHAT IS SKIMMING? Skimming is something that certain unscrupulous people use to bring a duff record back to life by chemically removing the top layer of the vinyl. It doesn't work. The sound is 'foggy' and background noise is increased. A skimmed record has a value of 0.00.

SHIPPING/POSTAGE COSTS

• Multiple purchases can save a lot of money on postage.
• Signed-for shipping will be offered on an invoice via eBay as an optional extra.
• All items sent in specially made-for-the-purpose, very strong secure packaging. It's a little on the heavy side which adds to postage, but secures the item. [See my feedback]
• Shipping charges include Mail Charges, Packaging and a Handling Charge. A handling charge is calculated from the time it takes to locate, final condition check, package and despatch. I estimate this cost to currently be £1.

SELLING YOUR COLLECTION

• KRT is a private Music Archive and the only items I have for sale are spare copies I don't need. I'm not a Music Seller or Record Shop and therefore can offer a much better deal when buying a collection as 'profit margins' don't come into it.
• I am constantly buying collections to help make my own archive as complete as possible and to replace worn or non-perfect items.
• KEEP MY INFO IN A SAFE PLACE. Should you ever wish to sell a collection [especially a Mint or Excellent Condition one] then let me know first. It's instant cash which is always very useful.
• Shops should make contact BEFORE any closing down sales are undertaken.

LOST ITEMS

• If you have items go missing occasionally you should think about using the SIGNED-FOR service, especially if it is an expensive package. I am NOT responsible for items that go missing UNLESS you have requested and payed for the SIGNED-FOR service.
• Only around 1 in 1,000 items seem to get lost in the post, if that. The postal services around the world are very good. Some are faster than others, but most now are reliable.
• ADVICE> If you ever have a expected delivery go missing, you should ALWAYS let your local sorting office know. Rouge postal workers are thankfully few and far between. But only by reporting lost packages can the culrpits be tracked down. [Tell your friends to do the same.]
