Description
For sale is a beautiful, original example (not a later repress) of rare Northern Soul/Sweet Soul 45 "If You Ever Walk Out Of My Life/ Who Am I" by Dena Barnes on the Inferno label, #2002. White label "Disc Jockey" copy, dead wax matrix "27SC125853-1A" and "TII" on "Who Am I" side, "27SC125854-1A" and "TII" on the "If You Ever Walk Out Of My Life" side.
Date "6/28/67" written in blue ink on "Who Am I" side. Labels otherwise clean and crisp with minimal wear. Vinyl rates a stellar visual and play graded NM.
This stellar example of this 45 comes direct from the collection of a Virginia DJ who ran a radio station out of his basement, back when you could do that sort of thing, in the 1960s. His 45 rpm records were impeccably kept in nine file cabinets, three rows of singles wide, in alphabetical order by label. The vast majority were NM, such as this one, the only flaw on most being that he wrote the date on each one, presumably the day it arrived at his radio station as a promotional single from a label. His collection was exceedingly rich in small labels from Pennsylvania to the Carolinas, Michigan, Ohio, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Texas.
