On offer here are two vinyl records by Def Leppard:

'First Strike' Unauthorized 12" Album and 'Rock of Ages' 7" single

I purchased 'First Strike' from a high street record store at the time of its release while I was traveling in Germany in the mid-eighties.

The tracks were originally recorded in 1978 at Fairview Music Recordings in Hull and remixed in August 1984 at "Hank's Studio", Germany.

Because the album was released without the authorization of the band and their managers it was quickly recalled.

The majority of the record is comprised of five demo recordings of songs that would all be revisited and rerecorded, in sometimes very different versions, for their first album On Through the Night. The first and last song ("Heat Street" and "Glad I'm Alive"), along with the third song ("See the Lights') have never been released anywhere else.

Condition:  The records on offer come from a pet-free and smoke-free house.  These were purchased new by me at the time of release.  The records have been played but never abused.  'First Strike' still retains the shrink-wrap (except for the slit used to remove the vinyl record).  The discs are in Near-Mint condition.

The starting bid for this auction is $5 with No Reserve!  Someone is going to get a great deal on records that represent an integral part of Def Leppard history.

Shipping:  I will pack the records securely in a sturdy 12" record mailer.  These cost 70 cents each when purchased in bulk.  I will ship via media mail.  Shipping costs will vary depending on the buyer's shipping address.  Therefore, I am going to invoice an (over-)estimated $10.70 for shipping but I will reimburse any shipping costs that are overpaid.  My buyers will never pay more than the actual shipping cost!
