CATALOGUE NO: P-8020W (WARNER BROS. PIONEER)

ULTRA-RARE 1971 ORIGINAL JAPANESE PRESSING OF DEEP PURPLE "IN ROCK" WITH OBI. THIS IS ACTUALLY THE 2ND PRESSING IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE MERGER OF WARNER BROS. PIONEER. THE FIRST RELEASE CAME OUT ON TOSHIBA AT THE END OF 1970. WHEN PIONEER BOUGHT WARNER BROS. FROM TOSHIBA IN 1971, THEY IMMEDIATELY RELEASED THIS TITLE ON THE OLIVE GREEN LABEL. THE GATEFOLD COVER IS IN VG+ (IT HAS AN APPROX. 2" SEAM SPLIT AT THE TOP OF THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE COVER. THE OBI IS IN NEAR MINT CONDITION WITH THE "HOJYUHYO" TAG STILL INTACT. THE RECORD LOOKS NICE EVEN UNDER DIRECT SUNLIGHT BUT TO BE CONSERVATIVE A STRONG VG+ WILL BE ADEQUATE. THE INSERT IS MISSING.
