Description

FOR AUCTION:  Dee Clark's self titled lp on Abner LP 2000. This is a Very Good ++ copy. I can't say Near Mint because of two fingernail scuffs that do not affect play. Most dealers would call this Near Mint, but I grade very conservatively because I know that opinions differ on Grading. I also know how easy it is to accidentally run a finger nail across a track when cleaning records. I sell too much volume from week to week to mess with getting a Nitty Gritty. Although it would be nice to have for collector pieces like this. I clean with a soft anti static cloth and Non-amonia Windex. Every once in awhile when I'm flipping a record to clean the other side I have caught my pinky nail on the first track. But when you clean 300+ records a week for record shows this is bound to happen every once in awhile. The cover is a solid Near Mint. Strong seams and no chipping by the opening. I'm guessing this one saw maybe 10 plays if that. Another great Doo Wop record!!!

Dee Clark recorded with The Deligates for Vee Jay in 1956. Clark decided to go solo in 1957 after being in numerous groups previous to the affore mentioned. In 1958 Dee enjoyed his first smash hit with "Nobody For You" an Abner release that reached #3 in the R&B charts. After that he would go on to have 3 more hits for Abner that are all on this record. Just another piece of Rock n Roll history.  Please feel free to email with questions. I am a T. R. Seller with 100% feedback I will keep it that way. I sell no trash, everything I list is in collector quality condition as I myself am one of the biggest collectors in Indiana.

Please disregard this next part if you are an honest Ebayer. I mean you no disrespect. I have heard that there are alot of scammers on Ebay lately. Remember, Ebay is about trust and honesty. I have been a member since they began in '98. I have not had any major problems (other than buying a couple of lps from sellers that had no clue how to grade a record) in 12 years of buying and selling. If your planning to pull a switch or "claim" you did not recieve your record, just don't bid! I have been around collectable vinyl my whole life and I know how to grade according to all the guidelines. I will know if the records are switched. I also know for every good record dealer there are two con artists. If I encounter this kind of fraud I will go through every step to ensure your never allowed on Ebay again.

Grading System:

Mint = only reserved for Sealed/Perfect Lps 10/10

Near Mint =  the record may have been played once or twice on good equipment. Near Mint vinyl should sound New when dust is cleaned off and the records played with a properly aligned cartridge and good needle. A Near Mint cover should be one that either looks new or still has the shrink wrap on it. Near Mint is usually reserved for record collectors that don't mind spending premium in order to get the best quality copy of a recording. 9 out of 10

Excellent = I don't do Ex! Be weary of dealers peddling this Ex grade! It can mean everything from "frisbee" to Vg+. Its just another way to confuse record buyers on what the record will be like when recieved. No reputable "Old School" Dealer will grade anything Excellent!!!

Very Good + = VG+ is a grade that I use for most lps that have been played a handful of times with care. It may have one or two scratches (should not be feelable with finger) that DO NOT affect play or some sleeve scuffs from being pulled and played. When put on your record platter a VG+ record should sound great. There should not be background noise (when properly cleaned) or pops, skips, or any other distracment from the music. You should be able to listen to a VG+ record time and time again and enjoy it. 7,8 out of 10

Very Good =  Record has been played and played and played. Record will have background noise. Maybe a pop or skip on certain tracks. Covers will have seam splits. A pretty "loved" piece of vinyl. 4,5,6 out of 10. Should still play without hurting your needle. Unless its very rare I do not list VG records. My moto is "If you can't play and enjoy it, it ain't no good"  I grade according to Goldmine standards. I strive to keep my feedback 100% positive!!!

SIDE 1  Just Keep It Up, Blues Get Off My Shoulder, Hey Little Girl, Whispering Grass, Seven Nights, I Can't Dream

SIDE 2  Nobody But You, If It Wasn't For Love, Lucky Me, When I Call On You, Nature Boy, Count On Me
