Description
DECCA MONO LXT 5460 MADE IN ENGLAND, FULLY LAMINATED, SCALLOPED FLIPBACK SLEEVE, DATED: 11-58 at bottom of reverse. This was a MONO ONLY release, there is no stereo version.
Highly unusual promotional-only release is two single-sided discs that are likely test pressings direct from the pressing plant used as pre-release promos to stores/radio in 1958. The labels are stock-printed as promos (not for resale), and there are additional hand-stamped/inked identifiers on the labels that repeat the matrix numbers in the run offs: ARL-3997-1A.
The music is only on one side of each disc, the reverse side is blank with no playback. Each of the plastic-lined inner sleeves was originally tape-sealed with promotional tape, these were opened in the 50s.
VINYL: EX there are some hairlines that do not interfere with playback
SLEEVE: NM or EX at worst, a stock laminated sleeve was used for this promotional item, it is not marked as a promo anywhere.
