DAVIE JONES with THE KING BEES - LIZA JANE.
As any serious David Bowie collector will know, the above named record is arguably the Holy Grail - his first ever release, on Vocalion Pop in 1964.
And the serious David Bowie collector will also know that, as it is very rare, there are fakes out there which have a JUKE BOX CENTRE and ETCHED matrix numbers.
My copy is genuine: it has the correct PUSH-OUT CENTRE and MACHINE STAMPED matrix numbers.
It is also a DEMONSTRATION COPY.
I bought this about 35 years ago from a friend who had been an original mod and had bought it when it was first released back in 1964.
Unfortunately, not knowing much about collectable records at the time, I pushed out the centre as I had just bought a 1959 Wurlitzer jukebox.
But apart from this and a small white sticker on the front label and no original sleeve it is in near perfect condition.
I estimate that it has only ever been played about half a dozen times - two or three times by me and about the same by the original owner.
Therefore the vinyl is near mint condition - no scratches or blemishes and bright as the day it was pressed.
It has been stored carefully and hasn't been played for many many years.

The stamped matrix numbers are:
A-side: CPDRF-33318-T1-1C
B-side: CPDRF-33317-T1-1C
Decca pressed the original vinyl so it is also stamped on each side with the following number and letter:
A-side: 1 D
B-side: 1 D
Because of the aforementioned imperfections, I'm starting the bidding at £500.
