This very collectable box set remains in fantastic condition and may well have never been played prior to my play grading.  This is based on the clarity, depth, power and warmth of the audio - the sonic quality across all 10 sides is stunning.  The box itself is also in superb condition with no shelf wear.

Visual description

Pressed on heavyweight 180g vinyl the records are in immaculate condition and still have a jet-black glossy sheen.  Not surprisingly there are no marks or scratches and only a couple of ultra faint hairlines on maybe one side.  There is no spindle wear on any of the vinyls and this backs up the theory that they may never have been played before.

Play grading

I played LP1 in its entirety and only detected one very light tick on S1.  I played various excerpts from the other sides and again what struck me is the sheer clarity of the music.  There are of course a number of quiet sections and yet they all play beautifully with no intrusion - this is particularly obvious on the classic 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' which plays with STUNNING precision and only a couple of minor static ticks at the beginning.  'Echoes' on S7 also plays with exceptional quality with no interference, I had to play that one from start to finish!  S8 contains the other classics 'Wish You Were Here' and 'Comfortably Numb' and again these both play with sublime quality.  The 'extra' LP plays with superb audio from start to finish - and needless to say the David Gilmour solo tracks across the sides also play with a clarity and depth that is second to none.

The Box + Extras

This box set comes complete with an LP sized 20 page booklet, a double sided poster and a laminated Webpass with a download code although I am not sure if this works now!  Only the poster has a couple of minor crease lines, the other items are in perfect condition.  The vinyls are contained in their own glossy picture sleeves and these are also 'as new'.  The stickered box has maintained its original shape and structure perfectly and has no wear or marks at all.  You would not be disappointed if you had just purchased this 'as new' from a record store!

This box set is near 3kgs so the shipping fees are a little higher in order for it to be sent fully insured.  Please only bid if you are you are prepared to pay this cost.  International costs can vary of course so it may be less than the price stated and any difference will be refunded.

The records have been cleaned on a Pro-Ject VC-S machine
