Highly collectible 12" vinyl release of "Pallas Athena" / "V-2 Schneider" (Live), issued under the pseudonym Tao Jones Index.Release BackgroundThe Pseudonym: The alias was used by David Bowie and his backing band during the 1997 Earthling Tour. The name is a humorous wordplay on his legal surname, Jones, mixed with the Dow Jones Index and his "Bowie Bonds" financial offering at the time.The Music: The record contains heavily experimental, drum and bass-influenced live versions of two tracks. Side A features "Pallas Athena" (originally from Black Tie White Noise) and Side B features "V-2 Schneider" (originally from "Heroes"). Both tracks were recorded live at the Paradiso in Amsterdam on June 10, 1997.Rarity: Released in August 1997 by BMG as a strictly limited-edition promo, only 2,000 physical vinyl copies were ever pressed, making it a highly sought-after piece for Bowie collectors.
