ITALIAN PROVISIONAL SLEEVE
PROMO RECORD
This is an ORIGINAL 1973 Italian Promo with the PROVISIONAL PROMO
sleeve. VERY RARE. It looks like the writing on the back of the sleeve has been
hand written in felt tip but it has not. This has been printed on . I got a lovely Italian
chef that I used to deliver to when I had my business to translate exactly what that
beautiful language on the back of the sleeve is actually saying. I cant remember but
it is something along these lines . Promo LP Provisional sleeve, sleeve not ready yet.
(Please any folks out there who speak Italian? Help!, I will add it to the listing).
This leads me to believe this pressing may even pre date the US or UK pressings of
Bowie`s 1973 masterpiece ALADDIN SANE. While I have been listing these great records have you noticed there has been 2 words that I keep using . GENIUS and
MASTERPIECE . These are not words I use lightly....In musical terms what makes a GENIUS ? To me, it is someone who breaks new grounds and pushes the boundaries.
MASTERPIECE . In musical terms that is an LP that has 12 songs and 10 are
magnificent. Or 10 songs and 8 are magnificent. David Bowie has achieved both of
these goals more than any other artist I know of. This is Bowie`s 73 Masterpiece.
To me this is Ziggy Stardust , but in colour ! Or Ziggy was Accoustic and this is Ziggy
going electric. I just test played it and my son said Dad don`t sell this....My kids have
been brought up on this stuff . When he was 11 he loved the naughty word in Time.
BOWIE IS THE KING. HE HAS CREATED MEMORIES WITHIN MY FAMILY
THAT NONE OF US WILL EVER FORGET . I TIP MY HAT TO YOU DAVID .
The LP plays fantastically .No skips . No Jumps. No sticking. The record is
excellent throughout. The sleeve has grubby marks and there is some damage
bottom left corner .The ORANGE RCA labels are MAGNIFICENTLY clean.
Side 2 bares the SIAE Promo stamp found on ALL Italian promo records but
it is very feint. Look at the simple Typeset on the from saying DAVID BOWIE
ALADDIN SANE . I could do better myself.
That said. I have loved this record for 32 years . WHY ?
Because it is a GREAT RARETY and a CLASSIC BOWIE LP .
And it is RARE !!!!
As simple as that sleeve is it is also...
