GRADING 45s
45s can be tricky to grade so these days I at least let the needle drop on the vinyl to hear what's going on. Mostly, this play grading is just for as long as it takes me to check the date of issue and sometimes other discographical information. I like listing 45s. It's fun, so frequently I play the whole thing and holler at my wife to check it out. LOL
GRADING - GENERAL NOTES
The condition of records in most collections tends to fall into a fairly narrow range. So, I play a few records and decide upon the collection’s general quality before making decisions on each item. Needs must that the vast majority of my records are graded visually. So I grade conversatively to Goldmine standards. I think most buyers are familiar with that system. However, often I will use the term “Excellent” which is vinyl that I rate between VG++ and Near Mint. Please note that I only use the term Mint when I am certain that the vinyl is unplayed.
