THE DAMNED
1977 Debut LP Eddie & The Hot Rods "error" sleeve!
Limited edition first UK pressing on STIFF Records, possibly 2000 or 3000 copies, with a picture of the Eddie & The Hot Rods instead of The Damned. The Hot Rods somehow end up looking like even bigger degenerates than The Damned, STIFF creates an instant "collectors item" (trash collectors) and the rest is history.
Album & sleeve are still in VERY GOOD condition, see photos.

Q: Sorry: can you give me more details about the condition of jacket & (especially) vinyl? (I don't need the picts, only a short description including flaws) Thanks in advance!
A: Hi, thanks for the interest, cover is obviously in opened shrink wrap, slight wear is at the open edge & corners mostly. Shrink is still pretty intact.... Vinyl is in nice shape, has a few spindle marks on the label, clean but couple very light scuffs, no scratches, plays great only very slight 'crackle' at the beginning of sides, slight surface noise (ticks not loud 'pops') between songs nothing out of the ordinary. So basically average Joe Blow selling records would likely grade this as Mint Minus or whatever.... The matrixes are side one I-5 side two I-10. (Yup, first press with a 5 & a 10, that should give anyone an idea of how many thousands/tens of thousands were pressed by Stiff in 1977, yet people seem to think the standard UK press is "rare.") cheers, Dan On Feb-10-12 at 07:45:05 PST, seller added the following information:
